Resources to Keep the Season
Merry and Bright

December 9th, 2024

‘Tis the season of busyness, excitement, time with family, and festive parties. But the holidays can also bring challenges and stress. Don’t get overwhelmed! ZOLL offers many resources to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being so you can celebrate the joy of the season.

Keep Your Body (and Mind) Strong!

Your physical health is the foundation of your overall well-being. A strong, healthy body is better able to face life’s challenges.

  • Stay active. With physical exercise, your body releases endorphins and serotonin, providing energy, and improving your feelings of well-being.
  • Eat healthy. Overindulging on holiday sweets can lead to increased irritability and moodiness. Balance the sweets with healthy snacks and meals so your body is well-nourished, but you don’t feel deprived.
  • Self-care is important too. Click here for more healthy holiday tips.

Financial Worries Causing You Stress?

Consider creating a holiday budget. Between gifts, holiday meals, travel, etc. the $$ adds up quickly. Stick to your budget and your wallet and your sanity will thank you. Click here for more tips to improve financial well-being.

Don’t Forget to Take Care of You!

In all the craziness and hubbub of this time of year, it’s easy to focus on others, but don’t neglect yourself and your needs. Taking care of your mental health and well-being will help you be able to take care of others. Find some peaceful moments and embrace the joy of the season – a cup of hot cocoa, a roaring fire, snuggled down with a favorite book, whatever it is, make time for you!

Struggling with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)?

The shorter days of winter, with less access to Vitamin D, can often bring struggles of Seasonal Affective Disorder.

You are not alone! Whether you are struggling with SAD, stress, isolation, or loneliness, there are resources to help.

  • Contact the Employee Assistance Program for confidential support anytime of the day or night.
  • Schedule a virtual behavioral health appointment to talk to a licensed therapist anytime, anywhere.
  • If you or a loved one is experiencing emotional distress or thoughts of suicide, call or text the national hotline at 988 to connect with a lifeline specialist.
